Be Yourself

A woman was tired of all the frustrations in life and fell down on her knees one night to pray. "Oh Lord," she cried. "How much longer do I have to be down here on this Earth?"

Suddenly, an angel appeared before her and said, "Lady, you better get on with the business of life. The Lord said he needs you down here for another 40 years."

The woman looked up in despair as the angel left, and thought, "What am I going to do for 40 more years? Well, if I'm going to have to put up with the world for forty years, I'm going to do it looking good."

So she went to a plastic surgeon, and got everything done that could possibly be done. Breast implants, liposuction, face lift, lips, eyes, cheeks, everything from head to toe. She came out looking great, and ready to make the most of the rest of her life.

She dressed up in her fancy new wardrobe and stepped out onto the sidewalk for a night on the town. Just then a bus came veering around the corner, lost control and ran up on the sidewalk, and killed her instantly!

The woman went to heaven and showed up at the Pearly Gates. She went into Heaven, and appeared before the Lord. "Hey, Lord," she lamented. "What's the idea? The angel told me you said I'd be on Earth for 40 more years."

"I'm sorry," came a booming voice. "I didn't recognize you!".
